Self-Care Strategy Group launch ‘one-year-on’ report on Primary Care Recovery Plan

The Self-Care Strategy Group has published a report marking one year since the launch of the 'Delivery plan for recovering access to primary care'.

The Self-Care Strategy Group, founded by PAGB in 2019 with representatives of leading pharmacy and healthcare organisations, has published a report marking one year since the launch of the ‘Delivery plan for recovering access to primary care’.

The delivery plan, published in May 2023, has been framed as a first step to address access challenges ahead of longer-term reforms to better integrate primary care. PAGB has welcomed the primary care recovery plan which has incorporated a number of recommendations from the Self-Care Strategy Group’s Blueprint for a Self-Care Strategy, published in October 2021.

This new one-year-on report reviews progress to date and makes recommendations to build upon the commitments in the plan to improve support for people to self-care.

The report can be viewed here.

As members of the Self-Care Strategy Group, PAGB are committed to playing our part, both individually and collectively, to support this work and encourage self-care for self-treatable conditions. We look forward to continuing our work with the next Government, NHS England and the Department of Health and Social Care to fully implement the plan and optimise policies that support and encourage people to self-care.
