This week, we joined the Latin-American Association of Responsible Self-Care (ILAR), a co-member of the Global Self-Care Federation, on a webinar to discuss the regulation of food supplements in Latin America.
The webinar, which took place for Latin American authorities, aimed to share best practices across food supplement regulations in various global territories, supporting attendees to understand different regulatory systems and determine considerations they need to make when regulating these products in their own markets. Representatives on the webinar included relevant authorities from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Panama.
Lorena Dorado, Regulatory Affairs Manager at PAGB, presented an overview on UK food supplement regulations. She explained the legal framework, the role of the UK agencies and their responsibilities and how the surveillance of food supplements takes place in the UK.
