We are proud to announce that our CEO, Michelle Riddalls, has been awarded an OBE in the King’s 2025 New Year Honours for her outstanding services to consumer health.
Michelle has long been a passionate advocate for self-care and OTC medicines. She was instrumental in supporting the Government during Brexit negotiations, where she highlighted the potential risks to OTC medicine availability in Northern Ireland and worked tirelessly to resolve regulatory challenges to ensure continued access to essential OTC products.
Beyond her work on Brexit, Michelle has been a driving force behind self-care in the UK –helping to secure national self-care policy in 2023 and working with key stakeholders to widen access to medicines through reclassification.
Michelle said, “I am truly humbled and thrilled to have been awarded an OBE in the King’s New Year Honours for my services to the consumer healthcare sector. This recognition is beyond anything I could have imagined for doing a job that I am so passionate about.”
Bas Vorsteveld, President of PAGB said: “Since Michelle became Chief Executive in 2020, she has gone above and beyond, contributing her own time disproportionately to supporting the UK government during Brexit as well as championing self-care. We thank her for courage, tenacity and tireless dedication.”
Congratulations to Michelle on this truly amazing and well-deserved honour, and we thank her for her continued dedication to improving consumer healthcare in the UK.
